The yoga program during this 5-day retreat will be a fusion of Restorative Alignment taught by Brigitte Longueville and therapeutic applications of Iyengar yoga taught by Roberto Astorga.

Each day you will revitalize and rejuvenate in a morning yoga session with these two master teachers.

After lunch the entire afternoon is yours to explore the beautiful surroundings; go for a walk on the beach, bask in the sun, swim in crystal clear water, or read a book in your lazy hammock.

In the evening you can watch the moon rising from the ocean and enjoy dinner with your new friends in one of the nearby restaurants.

Iyengar yoga can alleviate knee issues, such as inflammation and pain from tendon, ligament, and meniscus tears, cartilage injuries, etc. Remedial work on the knees also benefits the whole body. This session includes therapeutic applications with the use of the knee rods, props developed by BKS Iyengar. Knee rods are used for straight-legged poses positioned as close as possible up to the sides of the kneecaps and held in place by belts strapped above and below. Yoga students do not have to experience knee pain. The application of these props relieves muscular tension around the most important joints of the body and helps in realigning the knees.

7:00 – 8:00 am: Breakfast

Yoga kurunta (puppet) is the practice of the yoga poses using the yoga ropes. The use of the ropes is fundamental to provide variety to the practice and support poses that are not accessible to some students because of lack of elasticity and stamina.
